SCHOOL WINS BOTH (GOLD & SILVER)  

2013=2014 SC PALMETTO GOLD & SILVER AWARDS FOR TOP 5% OF SCHOOLS IN THE STATE!

SC State Dept. of Ed. Press Release:  According to a press release from Dr. Nick Zais, SC State Superintendent, winners were selected by South Carolina’s Education Oversight Committee.  Of the award recipients, only 65 schools were awarded the gold designation for both general performance and closing the achievement gap.  “These top 5 percent truly are our superstars,” said Zais.

The South Carolina Department of Education recognized 592 schools and career centers for general performance, closing the achievement gap, or qualifying in both categories

ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

Parents/Guardians interested in enrolling their son/daughter must return a completed application  to the school .  If there are more applicants than seats in any given classroom, there will  be a lottery.  Once the application deadline has passed ( Deadline 5:00PM January 13, 2014 or the second Monday in January of each year)  parents may continue to apply until all seats are filled.  

The application may be mailed to LCCPA P.O. Box 730, Lake City, SC 29560.  Or, hand delivered directly to the school’s main office  at 1009 E. Main Street, Lake  City, SC 29560.  For additional information, please contact the school at (843) 374-0128.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SAND HILLS REGION IV SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS: DE'SHAUN MCKNIGHT, JAMIER GOSSETT, AND DAQUAN GRAHAM!

Merced Ansay took time from her Spring Break to support her high school Physics students as they received their awards at Francis Marion University. Jamir Gossett, Daquan Graham, and DeShaun Mcknight proudly received second place for their science project, as Ms. Ansay and other family members looked on.  The fair was held at Francis Marion University on Thursday, March 28th. The awards were announced March 29th at the 5:30PM ceremony. “This makes the second regional competition won by high school students,” said school Principal Dr. Deloris  Brown.  A few weeks ago, our high school students won first place at the Pee Dee Region’s National History Day Competition for the second time; two years in a row.  Winning these competitions compels students to do research and think critically as they prepare to compete at the state level NHD competition, Brown added.
